James W. Boozer, MD, joined the HealthyU Clinics team in December 2024 following the acquisition of an FCPP practice in Modesto, CA where he worked since August of 1989. Dr. Boozer became board certified in internal medicine in 1987, having completed his residency at University of California Davis Medical Center in Sacramento. Dr. Boozer was born in Whittier, California, and he and his family have lived in Modesto since 1989. Dr. Boozer also serves as the medical director for the Modesto Gospel Mission and is team physician for a local high school football team. Dr. Boozer speaks Spanish, in addition to English. When he has some free time, Dr. Boozer likes to hike, kayak, bike, & go horseback riding. He also enjoys playing his guitar and reading. Dr. Boozer believes the best outcome for a patient’s health occurs when the patient takes responsibility for his or her choices and the physician listens and is sensitive to the patient’s physical, emotional and spiritual needs.
